The SBQG DCFS Project supports foster children in the care of DCFS (Department of Child and Family Services). These children, because of domestic violence or unsafe conditions, often leave their homes with just the clothes on their backs. Our contributions help improve the quality of life for these children and families. Guild members donate backpacks (aka Emergency Placement Bags) and many of the items that are needed for them. Our members provide gifts cards (much needed for the teens) and basic clothing and hygiene items for children ranging in age from infant to teen.
While we were not able to provide a donation to DCFS in 2020 due to the pandemic, we are planning a DCFS Project event in April 2021.
