ZOOM HELP
The following can be used as a step by step guide or you can just scroll to find the information you need
How Do I Access Zoom?
You can join the Zoom call from your phone, your computer or your tablet. The larger your screen, the better. If you have a large screen like on the computer and tablet, you can do “gallery” view and see more people. On your phone, you can only see 2-4 people. With a tablet or smart phone you will most likely be asked to download the Zoom app.
If you do not have a smart device or computer do not worry! You can still dial into the Zoom meeting and participate. You just will not be able to see the others.
Current guild members will be sent an email with a link to the Zoom meeting. This link will allow you to join the meeting directly.
If dialing in directly from a phone there is a password provided that will need to be entered.
It is best to keep the Meeting ID and Password on hand just in case the links do not work. We suggest writing them down before trying to enter the meeting.
Before Joining the Meeting
It is best to get familiar with the Zoom screen. Learn where buttons are for raise hand, clap, mute, stop/start video, gallery/speaker view, etc. The best way to do this is to download Zoom and have a “meeting” with a friend or family member. The location of buttons and controls is determined by what device you are using (on my tablet, they are at the top. On my computer, they are at the bottom). Click here to see button locations for various devices.

- Gallery View – Click on Speaker View or Gallery view to see all or just the speaker.
- Chat - It is easier for questions to be asked in the Chat rather than attempting to ask them at the same time a person is speaking. If you have any questions or comments please place them here.
Do not forget to check your surrounding environment. Set yourself up in a quiet place in your home (no TV or family members walking through) where it is well-lit but not near a window (glare). Remember, we can see everything behind you and if there is a lot going on, it can be distracting.
Checking the battery on your device is also essential. It is best to fully charge your battery before the meeting and it never hurts to have a charger on hand just in case the meeting takes longer than you anticipate.
From your PC computer – if you click on the link

- When you click on Open Zoom meetings, you should get the dialog box below. Hit “Join with Computer Audio”. Once you hit this, you should be able to hear everyone.
- At the bottom of the screen, there should be a start video option. It will be off like it is shown below until you hit it. Once you hit it, then you should be able to see everyone.
- My iPhone required that I download the app.
- This is what should pop up next. Just press “Join a Meeting”.
- In the next screen, where it says “Meeting ID”, type in the “Meeting ID” that was provided in the email.
- On the next screen, hit “OK”
- On the screen, hit “Join with Video”
- On the next screen, hit “OK” and you should be in!
- Use the phone number that was sent to your email
