South Bay Quilters Guild invites people of all sewing-skills to join! Our guild is the perfect place to meet new people, make new friends, learn more about quilting, and find out about how you can help our philanthropic endeavors. We are a 501C Non-Profit and we hold a Quilt Show each year to fund philanthropic endeavors asking each member to participate.
MEMBER BENEFITS
MEMBER DUTIES
MEMBER BENEFITS
- Improve your quilting skills
- Attend monthly guild meetings, in-person or virtual, to hear a guest lecturer on a variety of quilting topics. Find out what’s going on in the various committees (Philanthropy, Travel, Intra-Guild, Quilt Show, etc.), spend time with friends, have a snack, and browse the Free Table! See Meetings and Programs page for more information.
- Get discounted rates on the six quilting Workshops that are provided throughout the year, taught by established, sometimes nationally known quilt artists.
- Make Friends
- Do you want to attend a Guild meeting? The meetings are held the second Tuesday of each month. Click for meeting details.
- Receive invitations to join our virtual Sew-ins that take place three times per week. You can sit in the comfort of your own home, sew your own project (or not), and ask questions about the Guild and your sewing project. It's hard to get to know other members by just going to the Guild meetings. The virtual Sew-ins allow you to get to know and become friends with other members.
- Get involved with Intra-Guild where various projects are held throughout the year to help us get to know one another. See Intra-Guild page for more information.
- Travel to Road to California by bus with other Guild members. Look at the Travel Page for information on this and other trips.
- Make Quilts for Others – Philanthropy
- Access the Guild’s treasury of fabric, particularly for philanthropic projects: Comfort Quilts, Read me a Quilt, Wounded Warriors Project quilts, Disaster Relief quilts, placemats (for Meals on Wheels), holiday stockings, to name a few. Want to help? (You don’t have to be a member to help) Go to the Community Service page for more information.
- Show off your quilts
- Display at the Guild meeting's Show and Tell.
- Be a Patchwork Star – contact the Patchwork Star Reporter if you would like your quilts featured at a meeting.
- Enter quilts at the Annual Quilt Show held every February. The Quilt Show is the only fund-raising event of the year held by the Guild.
- Communications
- As a Member you will receive a monthly Newsletter which will answer questions about Speakers, Workshops, Philanthropy, Intra-Guild projects, Travel, Quilt Show and more.
- As a Member you will also receive a Membership Directory which lists all the Members and Board Members.
- As a Member you will also receive access to the Member Only pages of the Guild Website.
