Intake Process for Donated Quilts to Read Me a Quilt, Disaster Response Quilts and Honor Quilts
We accept many donated quilts at the Guild meetings. To help the intake process run smoothly, each donated quilt must have an intake form (link) completed and attached as follows:
- Please complete one intake form for each donated quilt and attach it prior to the Guild meeting.
- On the intake form, indicate whether the quilt is to be donated to Read Me a Quilt, Disaster Response Quilts or Honor Quilts. Include your name, the title of the book (for Read Me a Quilt), and indicate whether there is a SBQG label attached or pillowcase donated with the quilt.
- The most important aspect of the process is for you to attach this information to your quilt. If you do not have the intake form you may write the information on a piece of paper.
- Intake forms will be available for pick up at the Community Service table at the Guild meetings or may be downloaded from the link. The downloaded intake form must be printed in landscape orientation (not portrait); there are 4 forms on one page which must be cut apart so that a separate intake form can be attached to each donated quilt.
- Fold the donated quilt so that the back of the quilt on the outside, with the back upper left corner visible; and pin the label to that upper left corner. At the Community Service table an intake number will be assigned to the quilt, and your name (with book information for Read Me a Quilt, if applicable) will be listed.
- For any questions or more information please contact readmeaquilt@southbayquiltersguild.org or disasterresponse@southbayquiltersguild.org.
