HOLIDAY STOCKINGS
Project Background
A handmade stocking offers an extra measure of joy to its recipient. Let's send some warmth and homemade holiday comfort in the form of a stocking. You can make stockings at any time of the year to drop off as a donation.
Donations are best made by the November guild meeting so they can be distributed to various community charities before the December holiday season. Last year's stockings were distributed to:

How Can I Get Involved
Holiday stockings can be made & donated year-round to the guild but interest increases closer to the year-end holiday season. Any pattern may be used. Supplies are available at monthly guild meetings through November.
Our August 20th stocking workshop was a huge success! All the class attendees had to do was bring their sewing machine and then choose material from tubs of fabric & trims on hand. We learned how to strip piece fabrics onto a pre-cut stocking shape piece of batting layered with muslin. Every stocking looked so different. Thanks to Nadine Kirk for creating our pattern and patiently teaching the technique as well as cutting the batting ahead of time while Rachelle cut the muslin pieces to give us a running head start.
