Coordinated by
Mary Shadbourne The Comfort Project is a guild wide effort to mass produce and donate small, lap size quilts for people of all ages in hospitals, elder care facilities, foster care, homeless shelters, etc. Kits are provided and often members will donate a top or fabric left over from their last project. Minimum size is 36” x 42” but we welcome any size top (or finished quilt). We usually distribute 500 to 700 quilts each year; however, since the pandemic has temporarily curtailed hospital donations, we are currently stockpiling and concentrating on alternative choices. This holiday season we donated about 200 quilts, 60+ pounds of travel toiletries and over 150 holiday stockings to grateful recipients throughout the South Bay and beyond. |
