The 2023 Quilt Show Challenge theme is

Ready to enter your Challenge Quilt?

Size – 24” x 24” Irregular borders are OK. Theme – none!
What kind of quilter are you? What do you do most often? What have you never done, rarely done, always wanted to try? Your challenge is to try something new! If you are:

And/or - Branch out from your usual color pallet.
Or select your own personal challenge.
You don’t have to let us know beforehand what you choose. In your description, mention what you chose and how it challenged you. We can’t wait to see what you come up with!

- A firmly traditional quilter - try designing your own pattern
- A pattern follower – try making a collage
- Predominantly an appliquer – try paper piecing
- An art quilter – make something from a pattern
- A modern quilter – try using a traditional block design

- Always cut from yardage? Use your scraps.
- If you’ve never done it before, make a kids (whimsical?) quilt or a holiday quilt.
- If you always quilt for others - make something for yourself.
- If you’re always a starter and never a finisher…..finish!
And/or - Branch out from your usual color pallet.
- Usually use bright or primary colors? Try something muted, pastel, or vintage.
- Tend toward neutrals, or earth tones? Step into the color wheel.
- What’s your favorite / most used color?
- Red – try green.
- Blue – try orange.
- Purple – try yellow.
- Black & white – try rainbow.
- Two-color palettes - try using four colors.
