Design Inspiration: The New Quick and Easy Block Tool

I'm not normally drawn to purple, but I challenged myself to work with it in this quilt. The purple and taupe combination developed from a pair of fat quarters sitting together in a bin in a quilt shop. Much to my surprise, I liked them together. While I misplaced the fat quarters long ago, the idea for the quilt remained. I made the scrappy patchwork blocks as part of a TQS sew-along this spring, and decided to set them with alternate log cabin blocks to calm the feel of the quilt.
